As I begin to plan for the next decade of products, I wanted to give you a chance to voice some of your ideas, in terms of products that you would like to see from Avlon & Syntonics in the next decade. We have had a very successful 25 years of operation, and most of that success stems from the feedback that we have received from the marketplace.
This is your chance to get your say in, so please don't be shy. Whether your idea is an ingredient change, a new product idea, or a complete overhaul, I would like to hear from you. Even if you think our products are perfect the way they are, please say so.
Believe it or not, I remember your feedback when I work in the laboratory.
Edited on 01/11/10: Because some of your responses have been so terrific, I have decided to leave them unpublished. I will get in touch with you personally via email if you leave me some good suggestions.
Conditioners made with Moroccian oil,and aloe vera
shampoo's made of peppermint extracts
Thank you for the suggestions. For the shampoo, we have already introduced the Syntonics Detangling Shampoo with Aloe Vera Extract and Peppermint oil.
I will look into your other suggestion regarding the conditioner containing exotic oils such as Moroccon oil.

I have continually been hearing about cosmetics products and the growing trend for USDA certified organic/natural, Vegan, environmentally safe/conscious cosmetics/products, and even halaal (no use of alcohol or pork I believe? not sure what the mechanics behind this) products. Maybe these would be certain markets Avlon/Syntonics would dip into or further develop. I'm sure it would be very difficult to fit products into EVERY one of these categories, but I know some companies (possibly even yours?) do have different/specific product lines that provide products for the different target markets.
Please let me know if you have any specific way to define these categories in your company/product lines and what it actually even means. I am in college in Saint Louis right now, but maybe in the future I may think of developing a product of my own but I have no idea how certain products even fit into certain "areas" and how to make sure that all ingredients/chemicals/etc. are actually fitting into those criteria without the company itself manufacturing each individual ingredient on its own. (Maybe there are companies that specifically are providing ingredients catered to those target markets, but I'm not sure if they exist?)
Thanks for having such an easy way to approach you directly with questions and comments for your very valuable and educated advice.
Take care,
Murtadha Abidi

Hello Dr. Syed
I have been using Keracare products for about 4 years now and believe it is the best line thus far. I have 2 daughters (ages 2 & 4) that have very thick/curly/kinky textured hair. It has been a journey trying to find the right products to soften and moisturize & detangle their hair. Keracare detangling shampoo is the only one that works the best. The humecto conditioner however does not soften their hair at all.
Please create a children's hair care line with a softening hair lotion, moisturizing conditioner and shampoo, detangling spray and a rich scalp conditioner (aka hair grease) :) I hope you will bring something out soon while they are still children. :)
Thanks so much for the wonderful hair products and I can't wait to see what's next!!!
P.S. Can you please also create a seperate line incorporating shea butter, cocoa butter, and honey into the relaxers, shampoo and conditioners.
Thank you!!
Color for beards without metallics or instructions for beard coloring using the existing Avlon/Syntonics products.
These are just a couple of my suggestions based on my experience with the Kera Care line:
1) Make the 8 oz and 16 oz conditioners available in tubs/jars instead of bottles. With thick conditioners a lot of products is thrown away because you just can't get it out when it gets down to the last bits.
2) Additional detangling properties in Humecto. My dream product would be a cross between Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner (because of its detangling properties) and Humecto (because of the herbal extracts).
3) TRAVEL SIZES: Often I opt not to take Keracare with me while travelling because of the sizes and this should not be the case for such great products. Products I would suggest for travel size include Essential Oils for hair and Humecto for starters.
Hello Dr. Syed !!
Now that I have cut off my relaxer, I would love if KeraCare made a curl defining product geared towards natural/kinky-curly hair textures (if it does not already exist). I would love a product with the consistency of a whipped shea or mango butter! I would also love a heavy, thicker, richer deep conditioner (with a cholesterol-like consistency) for the days I wear my natural hair in it's curly state! I love the humecto for my rollersets, the glycerin does a fantastic job of conditioning and helping my hair to expand so that I can roll it with ease. I would love a heavy deep conditioner to "clump" my curls for the days I wear a wash and go !
Thank you for this blog !!
