Thanks for the support, keep the products coming!

Please Make keracare hydrating detangling shampoo sulfate free! Please

Please remove ALS from it !!!!

Thank you

Thanks for your input, Jenna.

I just LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEE ALL your products sooo muuuch ! it's the only line i use.

When i heard all the negative press and rumours about sulfates ...it freaked me out !

What's your take on it....?

Are they really as harmful as people say ?

(...causes hair loss, fades hair color, causes hair cuticle damage, drys hair????)

I personally dont believe that this is entirely true..

Because when i bought some sulfate free shampoo to try it out i found them soooooooooooooooooooooooo dryyyying ...i can barely comb my hair (with conditioner!!!).

Bought all the keracare shampoos (including for color treated hair and dry and itchy and 1st lather) ALL leave my hair super super super soft!

SO im just wondering.... Should we avoid sulfates...? Or is every product different? (is it the pH that seperates the good vs bad shampoos?)

Anywho, just to let you know i am and will always be a faithful avlon user !!!

...Please do let us know where Avlon stands on the isue about SLS/ALS...

Thank you

ITA @ Jenna. I've found that many of the products being touted as natural without sulfates are just as drying as the ones with the ingredient.

I think you have to take them on a case by case basis.. Just because a product is sulfate free or natural doesn't mean it's automatically a better choice for my hair.

I purchased Keracare's 1st Lather for the purpose of clarifying about once a month and I can say it's the mildest shampoo I've used with sulfates.

Jena:

We did an extensive study on all of the detergents in our dermatology laboratory. I would say that SLS and ALS are more drying to hair and especially the scalp.

However, the good news is that we always used a very gentle detergent known as Disodium cocoamphopropionate in our shampoos with a very small dose of ALS.

Now we are in the process of completely eliminating ALS/SLS from our shampoos. By next month or so, you will see that change taking place. Thanks for your support.

Your comments are very insightful. Yes, many of the shampoos that tout to be natural are full of soaps such as saponnified coconut oil or other natural oils that are neutralized with lye, etc. Unfortunately the manufacturers do not list the use of lye in their formula and the consumers are not familiar with terms such as saponified, etc. Soaps are known to be drying to hair and scalp and they leave a residue on the scalp that can cause extra dryness.

That is great news! i have seen the sulfate free shampoos but m yet to try it. Im waiting till im out of the old one before i repurchase. Now to the conditioners, will mineral oil be removed? I love keracare products my only concern was the sulfates in the shampoos and the mineral oil in the conditioners. Please remove the mineral oils as well. This would be the perfect line!

Jay:

Yes, the mineral oil is removed from the Humecto Cream Conditioner as well. We have eliminated parabens, mineral oil, petrolatum, and other objectionable chemicals from all of our KeraCare products.

Dr Syed

When will the new keracare products be released and will they have the same packaging as the current keracare proucts. I love the reults of keracare products but did not like the mineral oil found in them. Will the new keracare line give the same results?

Nicole:

The new KeraCare package has been upgraded to feature a more aesthetically pleasing design. Also many of the formulas have been upgraded to reflect feedback from the marketplace. We have removed Sulfates, Mineral oil, Petrolatum, and Parabens from nearly all of our formulas. The New Sulfate-Free Shampoos are very gentle to scalp and hair.

Overall, the New KeraCare products feature superior performance which was substantiated by our rigorous tests in our Avlon Research Center. However, I will leave final judgment up to you. Keep in touch.
